Barocco

In the Barocco there are texts of philosophers, artists and public figures of the mid-twentieth century. Works by Handel, Monteverdi, Purcell, Rameau, Lully, Vivaldi, Bach and other famous Baroque composers performed by Gogol Center artists and invited opera singers form a music manifesto. The words of Gilles Deleuze can be stated as the epigraph of the play: “The Baroque heroes are well aware that it is not hallucination that simulates reality, but reality itself is hallucinatory.” The premiere occurred on December 25, 2018.
