“The Petrovs In and Around the Flu” is
an extraordinary story about a very ordinary family. The husband, Petrov,
a car mechanic, his wife, Mrs. Petrov,
a librarian, and their school-aged son
(a Petrov, too) lead the life of a typical Russian family in Yekaterinburg. Then the flu changes everything, knocking the whole family down, and in the haze of feverish delirium, reality reveals itself to be very different from how the Petrovs and the people around them are used to seeing it.
